Acclaimed director Rithy Panh (The Land of Wandering Souls, S21: The Khmer Rouge Death Machine) embarks on a quest for a photograph taken by the Khmer Rouge during their rule of Cambodia. Knowing the photograph originates some time between 1975 and 1979, Panh draws spectators in to his quest with narration and archive footage that details the horrors of the Khmer Rouge regime. Official selection of the Cannes and New York film festivals, THE MISSING PICTURE is personal documentary that uncovers the truth of a larger history.

“The audacity of “The Missing Picture” — a brilliant documentary about a child who held on to life in Cambodia’s killing fields — is equaled only by its soulfulness.” – Manohla Dargis, The New York Times
